How Transferable Skills Can Help You Change Jobs

Basically transferable skills are job skills that can make the leap from one job or career to another no matter what they are called. But since job titles and terms can at times seem very different from the real underlying skills, you may have to help a prospective employer understand why your experience is right on target even if at first your job skills do not seem like a match.

Not only can employers have trouble seeing the skills fit, but sometimes we do too. So when it comes to job search or career change it’s important that YOU really have a firm grasp of what transferable skills are and how you can creatively turn them to your advantage. Just remember…with a little word magic (and not one ounce of deception) you can use your resume and cover letter to tell the story of your work history in a way that best matches your NEXT job.
